Admission FAQ

“Parents are the child’s first teachers.”

— Maria Montessori

Here are the questions we hear most often about the admission process.

  • What age can my child start at Montessori School of Miami Shores?

Children may begin as early as 18 months in our Toddler Program. We also offer Primary (ages 3–6) and Elementary (ages 5–11) programs.

  • Do I need to schedule a tour before applying?

No, you do not need to schedule a tour before applying. However, a school visit will give you the opportunity to see our campus and classrooms, learn about our programs, and ask questions.

  • How do I schedule a visit to the school?

You can contact our office by phone or email. You can also view our calendar for availability to set up a tour. We’ll work with your schedule to find an afternoon time that works best for you.

  • What programs do you offer by age group?

    • Toddler Program: 18 months to 3 years
    • Primary Program: 3 to 6 years
    • Elementary Program: 5 to 11 years
  • Do you accept children mid-year?

Yes. Admission mid-year is subject to availability and the child’s readiness to transition. We welcome conversations to explore the best timing for your family.

  • Is there an application deadline?

While we accept applications on a rolling basis, spaces fill quickly and enrollment is for the 10-month school year. We encourage families to apply early for the best chance at securing a spot.

  • Is there an application fee?

Yes. A non-refundable application fee is required when submitting your application. Additional details are provided during the admissions process.

  • How does the waitlist work, if a program is full?

Applicants are added to the waitlist in the order applications are received. If a space becomes available, we will reach out to you directly. If the program is full, your application will be kept on file pending future availability.
